Attractive 17th century country pub in the centre of the village. Steps up to the front door. The brick-faced main bar faces you when you enter. It sits on a red & cream tiled floor. Exposed ceiling and wall beams. To the left is a spacious dining area, to the right a cosy public bar with open fire and TV. The village's two churches in one churchyard can been seen from high-level enclosed rear garden. Four handpumps offer Batemans beers and others from their guest list with Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker a frequent visitor. All drinks have a 20% discount on Fridays 4-7pm. Bar food and a la carte is available. Booking is often wise. Seniors' lunch Wednesday to Friday. Music every Friday. Bateman's have now found new tenants for the Red Lion.They will be reopening on Tuesday 17 October 2023.
