In a side road just off the village centre, this local has a fine flint-faced frontage. There are 2 bars. The right side one is dominated by a curved bar counter, wood-panelled and with tiles inset above and below the counter. The curve of the bar makes the middle section narrow with "rooms" each side, one with a conservatory extension. To the left of the front entrance is a smaller bar with pool table and juke box. In front of the pub is a small paved area with tables. To the rear, the large garden has play equipment and petanque and a big timber shelter. Guest beers include local breweries and always one from Oakham. Good value pub grub available Wed-Sun. The local metal detecting club meets on first Wednesday each month. "Saga Louts" meet on Thursday from 6-8pm.
