See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
In a side road just off the village centre, this local has a fine flint-faced frontage. There are 2 bars. The right side one is dominated by a curved bar counter, wood-panelled and with tiles inset above and below the counter. The curve of the bar makes the middle section narrow with "rooms" each side, one with a conservatory extension. To the left of the front entrance is a smaller bar with pool table, juke box and TV screens. In front of the pub is a small paved area with tables. To the rear, the large garden has play equipment and pétanque and a big timber shelter. Guest beers include local breweries and often one from Oakham. The pub has its own darts, pool and pétanque teams. The local metal detecting club meets on first Wednesday each month. "Saga Louts" meet on Thursday from 6-8pm. Food vans Friday evening.
