Reopened in November 2022 following a refurbishment. Grade II listed former coaching inn with the oldest bits dating back to the 17th century. The front entrance opens into the main bar which is decorated in grey and has exposed beams. The blue board-fronted bar has three handpumps as well as a range of keg beers including some from local brewery, BrewBoard. An inscription beside the bell pays tribute to the former licensee. Pieminister pies and mash available from the bar. Food vans Wednesday-Sunday. There is a separate bar billiards room which is used for meetings and other functions. Behind the pub there is a car park, pétanque court, covered beer garden and smoking area. The pub has a strong community involvement, supporting local charities and sports teams. There is a resident pétanque team. They are also home to a Saturday League football club. There is a pub quiz every Thursday night.
