A public house since 1839 it reopened in October 2014 after extensive and stylish renovations including opening an upstairs private dining area and roof terrace with views across Grantchester. There is a fenced garden to the rear and a large car-park. Originally called the Rose & Crown, in the 1970s it was renamed after the first world war poet who lived in the village. Although primarily given over to dining, the menu features seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, a large island bar sits at the heart of the building. Drinkers are welcome to use the bar-stools or the tables in the drinking area. Timothy Taylor Landlord is their regular beer with a locally brewed beer as one of its two changing ales. Its keg beers includes a locally brewed one. Cider selection includes locally produced Crane's real cider in a bottle. New licensees who took over in August 2024 had previously run the Plough in Coton.
