See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

Established in 1765 as the Horse & Groom renamed in the 1870's and has occupied current premises since 1889. Now has a single bar with three separate areas and a conservatory. A boar's head adorns the wall. Accommodation includes two rooms inside the building and seven in a motel-like block beside the beer garden, to the rear of the main building. Has a good reputation for its wholesome food that is prepared on the premises. Curry night on Mondays and Pie & Mash on Thursdays. The pub has a strong local trade.
