The Black Horse is a two bar village pub purchased several years ago by a Rampton resident from Greene King. It has since earned a reputation for its beers, locally produced cider and fine wines. Food currently consists of bar snacks, including vegan, homemade cakes and other baked items and artisan ice cream. Dog friendly throughout. Step-free access although the toilets are not wheelchair accessible. Outside there is parking on both sides of the pub and a large beer garden to the rear with a pétanque pitch. Informal pétanque evenings alternate Wednesdays during the summer. Up to three changing beeres from regional and local small breweries. Its keg lines include a rotation of independent breweries and Cranes cider. New licensees took over in July 2023.
