Sturdy 19th-century brick building fronted by an impressive sward for outside drinking and children's amusement. The pub consists of four distinct areas one of which is given over to dining. The main bar area has a brick and tiled floor, high backed settles and a brick fireplace occupied by a fine cast-iron stove. It has been extended into the former cellar, the real ales now being served by gravity from behind the new low bar. Adnams Southwold is a regular and Ghost Ship is almost always on too. There is also at least one guest ale. All ales are £3 a pint. The food is freshly prepared from local produce and offers quality and value. They hold a music & beer festival on the late May bank holiday Monday. This former Greene King pub was purchased by the resident of Conington Hall in 2013 and is now run, free of tie, by Conington Pub co.
