The two bars of this free house are adorned with a wonderful collection of bottles, breweriana and historical photos. The left-hand bar has recently been extended and features the TV. The nine hand-pumps are in the right-hand bar which is quieter and child-free. Its ceiling is hung with pump-clips, jugs and hops. The guest beers always include a mild. Belgian and German beers are on draught and there is a range of continental bottled beers. A regular cider and a perry plus a guest cider are also available. There are two beer festivals each year: an Easter aperitif then the main event in September with all proceeds going to local charities. Its beer festivals raise money for local charitable causes. Breakfasts served from 10.30am on Saturdays.
